polyimide
Graphite-filled polyimide washers
Graphite-filled polyimide washers are self-lubricating thrust and wear faces for axial loads. They are specified when a metal washer would need oil the assembly cannot provide, or when weight and temperature both matter.
Axial interfaces that run dry
Thrust washers see sliding under load. Graphite-filled polyimide is built for that contact: low friction, wear resistance, and heat capability without a heavy metal ring.
Questions engineers ask
Short answers
When do I need a graphite-filled washer instead of unfilled?
Choose graphite-filled when dry running or low friction under load is the primary job. Choose unfilled when electrical insulation is the primary job.
